    Love this mount

Ordered this to mount streamlight on my shotgun and love how low profile and slim it mounts is the perfect setup so I don’t have a huge light mount off the fore end and having it get snagged on everything

Be Careful on the 11 and 1 O’clock Mounting

    Posted by E on Sep 21st 2020

Product itself is impeccably machined. Mounts up solid. If you plan to mount this on the top 45 degree flats, I would warn against front sight interference. Using MBUS pros and a Modlite 18650 body, the mount cannot be placed on the 11 o’clock spot. It will fit, with a hair of width, when mounted on the 1 o’clock spot. The two threaded bases of the light only have maybe a millimeter of engagement on the rail itself. This is a problem with the light body, not the mount itself. Overall I am pleased, but I would have preferred if this mount had mounted on the outside (slightly more bulk, but wouldn’t interfere with front sights and would allow for better interface with the light body).

    Low Pro Scout Mount

Probably the best way I’ve found to mount a scout light directly to an MLOK handguard. I’ll definitely have to get a couple more in the future

I can confirm that this product interfaces perfectly with Modlite WML's (and does a damn fine job at it too). The extended recoil lugs brace the mounting posts of the light body with precision tolerances. This thing is straight up bolted on ROCK SOLID. My light sits at 12 o'clock and isn't much taller then the iron sights...folded down, iron sights! So much win in this product. Well done gentlemen.

    Light mount

Posted by Andy F. on Aug 13th 2020

I used this mount to attach an Olight Odin to an ALG rail. The Railscales light mount allows mounting the light as close as possible and adds minimal weight. I like the built in lugs to help secure the light against impacts. I did have to file the lugs down a little for my application. This isn’t a design flaw on their part. The light mount is designed for the Surefire Scout, so I was expecting it might require a little modification for the Odin. Excellent product and well packaged. They appear to be a small company and genuinely appreciative of your business.

    Solid. Low Profile. Lightweight.

I’ll start by saying RailScales has 10/10 customer service. Jake was especially quick to help. Now on with the review. This mount is the lowest profile M-Lok direct body to rail mount on the market. It sandwiches the rail between the light body and mount itself. This is unlike the Unity Mount I was previously using. Unity has a plate between the rail and light body. Additionally, the light body would move around on the Unity plate. RailScales solves that with tabs to retain the light. This feature is really nice considering weapon lights seem to always take impacts from barricades, door frames, etc. from being far out toward the muzzle. It is very apparent that some legitimate testing/R&D went into this product. Overall the mount is solid. It doesn’t wiggle, wobbly, or slide around like so many other mounts on the market. Oh, and it weighs almost nothing. If you are willing to slide your rail off for 5 minutes and install this puppy, it’s well worth it. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
