Scout Pro Hardtop™ Mount

Like with all of Railscales products, when you first receive your highly anticipated package from Railscales and start the mounting process the first thing you notice are the superior quality steel hardware, Torx T20 drive screws, which comes as a pleasant surprise knowing that unlike the much softer and cheaper screws that you typically find on handguard slot covers and other accessories and which will strip out over time sometimes making the removal an actually process that requires many of the shop tools that you don't have in your limited tool collection. This first surprise indicates that the owners of Railscales actually respect and care about their customer base, as providing these more expensive Torx T-20 screws is the icing on the cake and gives you the added peace of mind that your new accessory will be securely mounted to your gun and which won't loosen or back out over time, seeing how they come with Thread Lock already applied and ready to be tightened down to spec. Next you notice the superior quality of the product that just arrived, which in this case was the Scout Pro Hardtop™️ Mount that's comes Anodized in one of the nicest FDE/Terra Bronze finishes that I've ever seen. This light mount that's compatible with my Surefire Mini Scout Light Pro Turbo allows for the mount to be attached at 10 o'clock with the light to be rotated upwards to 11 o'clock, fitting nicely tucked in above this mount and the L3Harris NGAL laser that's currently mounted on the top picatinny rail, allowing for the light to settle as close to the handguard as possible, while being protected and streamlined, sitting much closer to the handguard than the factory Surefire M-Lok mount that's more prone to snagging or bashing off the corners and edges of closed in environments.

This mount is really cool and IMO it perfectly bridges the gap between the 2 Surefire factory mounts that are included with any pro light (Mlok and Pic). I used this mount on a geissele 14.5 upper and it is absolutely perfect. I have it mounted at about 11 o’clock. If you’re working on a new build or are looking at a better solution for getting your light in the perfect spot you should definitely give this mount a try!
