Product Overview

CSMR Button™ - Concentric Spring Magazine Release button for M4/AR style rifles. The CSMR™ features two bosses on the backside to help keep the spring concentric during compression, and a raked 8 degree face for a more natural finger placement. Keeping the spring concentric during compression helps eliminate the crunchy feel when depressing. Offered in two styles, "MilSpec" (visually looks like the MilSpec fingerprint with all the updated features of the CSMR™) or "Apex" (a mild yet grippy texture) to accomodate both the agressive or more conservative style of AR's. Also included is one of our 302 Stainless Mag Catch Springs (also available separately for purchase here) for even smoother compression, Patent Pending. Only includes the Button and Spring.

    It’s hawt

Posted by Z Steezy on Apr 26th 2022

I bought one, then I bought two….then I bought three. I’m not saying it will fix any problems you have in your marriage or make your kids love you again. But it will potentially make your mag changes way more betterer if you’re into that kind of thing, and will definitely make you the aesthetic gawd at your favorite indoor range. Which in turn will most certainly cause the gun bunnies to come after you so in the end it’s really not a big deal that your marriage wasn’t saved. And you can trust me on all of this because I only shoot flat range.

Extremely nice product with one minor installation issue

The machining is perfect, the anodizing is tough and beautiful. The included spring is strong. The only reason I'm giving this four stars is because of the two bottom extensions that help keep the spring centered on the button. They are helpful for installation and consistent mag release pressure, but they really didn't need to be so long. They were long enough that they prevented me from depressing the button deep enough to fully thread on the mag catch while still clearing my FCD bolt catch. I ended up using a steel file to remove material from the nubs, so I didn't have to remove my bolt catch just to install a mag release. A minor annoyance, but an annoyance nonetheless on a 22 dollar mag button. The button would be perfect if the spring support nubs were half as long as they are.

can't say that it works better than a standard mag release button, but the finish is flawless and it looks great with the other tano pieces.

    Excellent product

I seriously build guns just so I can put RailScales products on them. These magazine release are fantastic - they look great, are easy to install, and they do their job.

    Awesome. Definitely buying more.

I thought I'd just try the Apex to see if I'd like it since I was making an order anyway. It's pretty amazing at how much having a slight angle on your mag release button makes it feel so much better. I'll definitely be buying more for my other AR platforms. Even if I had something I was trying to keep traditional 'mil spec' looking I'd still put one of these mil spec versions on it. You can't tell there's any angle to it unless you get up close and are looking for it. I'm honestly very impressed with this considering it was something I added to an order just on a chance that I might like it. Definitely a great upgrade. And the customer service was great. Ordered Friday morning; shipped out that afternoon; arrived today (Monday). Can't get any better than that for "free sticker" shipping.

    Nice texture, and angle

Posted by Tyler Frogley on Sep 30th 2021

Had no idea that this mag release had an angle to it (unless I cross threaded it?….) but I now actually prefer the angle, and texture is aggressive and tactile. It matches pretty closely to geiselle DDC which is nice.

Hard to improve on something so basic, however RailScales did it again! The slight angle and the texture are spot on.
