Product Overview

Ascend™ 1911 Scales - CNC machined out of premium G10 material and featuring the same Honeycomb texture as our patented RailScales. We threw out the traditional 1911 grip model and designed Ascend scales to melt into the frame and cover more area, redefining how grips should fit your 1911. Our 1911 hand grips break the 100+ year old grip profile that other companies settle for. While design and innovation has progressed considerably on the 1911, the grip scale area has been left untouched and overlooked. Each set of 1911 grips includes our custom 416 stainless screws that have been heat treated and black oxidized.

If your ambidextrous safety is a "legless" style, like the Nighthawk or Ed Brown, you may run the Single Safety option. If your ambidextrous safety has a "leg," you need the Ambidextrous option.

Fitment: Because of the additional frame coverage, our 1911 slim grips ride very close to the front and rear of the frame. Due to the frame and front strap texturing variations from every manufacturer, there is a small possibility our grips may slightly over hang. If this occurs, you may return them for a full refund. Our magwell cut is a hybrid of a flat bottom and chamfer, allowing for a great look whether you are using a magwell or not. They will match Nighthawk mainspring housing magwells perfectly.

Ambi Safety model: Due to the numerous makes and versions of ambi-safeties on the market, minor fitment may be required for proper operation. This can be done with a file or sandpaper, then re-oil with WD40 to bring the G10 back to a rich black.

    I have a set of each of these, and I love them! A little higher than other alternatives out there, I just hope they offer some additional styles soon!

    The title says it all. I can't believe no one has done something like this before. I already enjoyed the honeycomb texture on my Railscales and it is just perfect for my 1911. Props to these guys for making function look good.

    The factory laminate grips that came on my S&W E-Series 1911 certainly photograph well, but between the heat and humidity in central NC they just don't provide an adequate amount of purchase. I had my eye on some of the VZ offerings in a slim profile until I heard about these. The whole bit about these grips being redesigned is not just a marketing scam. They feel completely different in the hand. The best way is describe the standard 1911 design is that it has three distinct grip areas: the back strap/MSH, the front strap, and the palm swells. In my hand these are all noticeable and pronounced, especially when switching from modern designs such as an M&P or Glock. With the Railscale grips these three areas really do melt into each other and the whole pistol just feels like one (mostly) continuous surface. The only way to make it any better would be to physically alter the frame to blend with these grips, but I'm not about that life. Also, since these grips provide better traction than track spikes, they'll have you running your heater faster than Usain Bolt.

    Want a grip with great traction these are your grips. Have tried many different styles of 1911 grips from diamond checkering, full checkering to starburst but nothing provides the traction like the RailScales Ascend. Attention to detail is outstanding with each detail checked and initialed. Thanks for thinking “outside the box”. Too many companies hold onto the past a little too tightly, not these guys.
